Even in childhood, I was preoccupied with anything related to art. What I realised that I was not interested in expressing myself and my soul searches in an abstract artistic way. Rather, what satisfied me was creating something for a purpose, with a challenge that would provide me with the stimulus and the reason to do it, and create something in any possible way so as to arrive at the desired result.
This is exactly what I found in the artistic bookbinding and everything related to it, and this art became part of me. I have remained faithful to it and preserved the authenticity of its traditions. The book is the medium through which I express myself. The ideas for bookbinding designs come from the information, the meanings, the feelings, the mental images that I feel when I am reading each book.
From the conception of an idea to the end result, the route is a fascinating one. Broadly speaking, I particularly like creating something that will please the person for whom it is intended; helping his/her mental image materialise; offering ideas and solutions when and where needed, for any kind of project, be it a simple or an artistic one. I will gladly lead you to this fascinating and magical world of bookbinding.
